Hamilton Canal Breakthrough

Great news on the local political front yesterday -- the Lowell City Council unanimously green-lighted the sale of 10.9 acres of land to be developed in the JAM area (Jackson-Appleton-Middlesex) -- the cornerstone of what will be known as the Hamilton Canal District.

As a downtown property owner living on the JAM border, I'm naturally psyched -- this area now is still pockmarked by urban blight, but is poised to undergo a massive overhaul.
